Quizzos (“we”, “us”) provides a quiz and assessment platform for classrooms and higher-education courses. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Quizzos service at quizzos.uk and related subdomains.
Information we collect
- Account information. Name, email address, role (teacher or student), institution, and password. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
- Class and quiz content. Quizzes, questions, classes, rosters, invitations, and any content you create or upload while using the service.
- Activity data. Quiz responses, scores, attempt timestamps, leaderboard position, and similar activity needed to run live games and exams.
- Support correspondence. Messages and attachments you send through our support and contact forms.
- Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser, request timestamps) used to keep the service running and to investigate abuse.
How we use your data
- Provide and operate the service: authentication, class management, live games, exams, and analytics.
- Send transactional notifications (account verification, password reset, exam publication, class messages).
- Respond to support requests.
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of these terms.
- Improve the service and fix bugs.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for advertising.
How we share your data
We share data only with the service providers we need to run Quizzos:
- Supabase (database, authentication, realtime).
- Netlify (web hosting).
- Resend (email delivery for transactional and support messages).
- Google (only if you choose Sign in with Google).
Each provider processes data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments. We do not share your data with anyone else, except where required by law.
Teachers and class owners can see the names, emails, and quiz results of students enrolled in their classes. That is a normal part of running a class on Quizzos.
Data retention
We keep your account and class data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete the associated personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to keep it for legal or security reasons. You can request earlier deletion by contacting support.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data (subject to legal obligations).
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the support form.
Children
Quizzos is used in K-12 classrooms. Student accounts are created and managed by their teacher or institution. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 13 without the involvement of their teacher or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data outside that context, contact us and we will remove it.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser local storage that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to run the service. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted password storage, and row-level access controls in our database. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to this policy we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email.
